more stuff from camp

It has been good. Let me share some more stuff.

We had a good night. I spoke on worship through suffering and pain. It was a heavy message, but I sensed a real burden to share it. Thank you for your prayers. Some folks came to me a shared that it was an encouragement. "We needed to hear this" they said. The Lord is good. So good.

My brother baptized three students last evening in the "Wave Pool." Yea, they have a wave pool. I haven't been in it, but it looks really cool.

Thanks for your continued prayers. There are some special things that the Lord is doing. I am humbled to be a part of it.

Tonight I will share through the Isaiah 6 passage on worship. "Our Response."

Thank you now for your prayers. I sensed His leading and your prayers.

Some of camp

Camp Kulaqua is where we are. Nice place. Check out some of the sites:

You know how I love deer. Well during my running in the morning this is what I see.

Andrew and Austin are helping me during the worship. In the pic we are preparing for the service which has around 230 high school students and leaders.

Well, let me explain the picture with me in the air. That is me being "Blobbed." The Blob is a big canvas air filled oblong shaped balloon. One person sits at the end, another person jumps onto the blob and launches you into the air. You land in water. I almost left out that important element of the story. The person being blobbed should be smaller, as in my case, my son Andrew blobbed me. My form could have been better.

So my schedule is:
up at 6:10 AM
Quite time
Run
Staff meeting at 6:45 Am
Run back to my room.
Study/work for the rest of the morning.
lunch
An hour of relaxing
Back to work for the rest of the day in preparation for my talk.
6:15 the worship service begins
7:45 it is over.
8:30 large group stuff
hang out with the band, staff and students
11:30 meeting
12:00 AM or so, try to go to sleep and then do it all over again.

This is the church whose Pastor and son were recently killed in a plane crash. Tonight I will be speaking on worship through pain. This is an amazing church. The oldest daughter of the pastor is here. Please be in prayer.

One night over with

Thank you for your prayers. Please keep them coming.

We had our first night at camp. It was great to see my brother. He has a great student ministry and they sure do love him.

I shared tonight about how we should worship and who the object of our worship is. You know that we have an awesome God, but sometimes we give Him small worship. Worship is a relationship. One that is real and personal that will show itself with deep passionate worship.

Tomorrow evening I will be sharing about the lifestyle of a true worshiper. Andrew and Austin will be helping me out in the service.

Thank you again for your prayers.

Happy Father's Day

I must give a shout out to my dad. He's a good guy. He's my hero. Military Vet, proud American and I also saw him beat up a dude when I was 7 or 8 years old. One punch. Yep. The dude thought he was dealing with a kid, but he didn't know that my dad was a boxing champion in the Army. It's a long story, but just so you know, he was protecting us.

I also got the coolest thing. An "omelet maker." It is really cool. I like getting my protein from eggs, so this thing is really sweet. I love my family. They are the best.

Today was really good. You all looked great in the red and black. Nice job. I love the new tune, and you all did a great job with it.

In I John 3:18 it says, "My Children, let us not love in word or tongue, but in deed and in truth." I have been thinking about this all week. I think we get comfortable just staying in our comfort zone. I believe the Lord is telling me, "Get out the box and show your love to the lost world." Check out the full passage. Let me know what you think.

See You Soon

Night of Worship [Live @ Christ Fellowship] Is In!

That's right! The Live @ Christ Fellowship CD/DVD combo of the first live recording of our night of worship (now called Live @ Christ Fellowship) is in.
It arrived on Monday. Distribution of these will begin this weekend. If you pre-paid ordered, you may pick them up at the table next to the Media and Resource Center. If you have not pre-ordered, you may purchase the combo at Media and Resource Center counter or go online www.cfmusic.org. You will want to purchase a copy for your friends and family. These are all original tunes that come from our hearts as worship leaders. Pray that this project will bless those who listen and watch.

Alex and Shaleen had us over to view April's wedding photos. Well, only some of them. I cried all over again. The pictures were awesome. Really. Alex also put this slide show together. Check it out. How blessed I am. God's grace is amazing. slideshow of April's wedding

See you all at rehearsal. The colors for this weekend are black pants of skirt. Purple tops.

So Much To Say

Do you ever have so much to say that you can't say anything? I get that way sometimes. It's like my mind is racing so fast that I'm not sure where to start. I know if I write too much you won't read ahead so I will keep it all short:

The weekend was really good. I loved the way the worship service flowed. We used several layers of video to create a more visual appeal during the songs. Nice job media peeps. You all are amazing!

Eric's message was right on. Good stuff. Practical and to the point. We tried something new: We set a clock that counts backwards during the message in the rear of the worship center (in the balcony) so that Rick and Eric as they are speaking don't need to guess how much time is left.

We had a great time at 101. My guess is we had around 30 attendees. We had some wild riders down the slide. Oh, in case you don't know, we give them the option of going down the slide in the kids area. It was great!

My daughter and son-in-law, okay I said it, just returned from their honeymoon. They went to the motherland. Puerto Rico. They had a blast and have made their way back to Tampa.

You all know Andrew, he goes by Andy. He plays most weekends with me in the worship service and does amazing stuff. He's our middle child. Austin is our youngest and he has some awesome skills as well. I couldn't resist taking a picture of him when he got is permit. He's a good driver. He can't wait to take the scooter out for a spin when he gets his full-on driver's license.

Okay, enough.

Still Enjoying The Day

Well, it has been a few days since my daughter was married and I'm still enjoying the day. It was great. The other side of the wedding was all the family.

Check my two boys. They look awesome in their tux. And here's me and my two brothers. I love those guys. They came early and helped us get the place ready.

I can't wait to get the real pictures from Alex. They will be awesome I'm sure.

Hey, see you tonight. We will wear any color solid top with black pants or skirts.

I love you all.

It was an awesome weekend!

It was an amazing weekend! The worship services were energetic yet reflective. Rick reminded us that, our "Dash," our life, is limited, it would be evaluated and it would be recognized. The question is "Where are we in the mission?" The Lord's Supper was a fitting end to the service as we all examined our lives.

Well, as soon as the last service was over we, some friends and family, transformed the worship center and fellowship hall for April's wedding. It was amazing. The day was tremendous. Okay, I know what you're wondering. Did I destroy the service with my crying. The answer is..."No." I did cry as many did, but the Lord gave us all grace. Thank you for your prayers. It is official. I have a daughter who is married.

It was great seeing my brothers all here. We have a blast together. Also, thank you for your prayers for my brother's church. When I spoke with him, he said, "It does not feel real." But God is giving them strength. Thank you again.

I appreciate you all. I look forward to seeing you all soon. I love you all.
