it's been a really good weekend

Well, the weekend is almost over. I'm up getting ready for Sunday morning worship services. Saturday evening was really good. The folks were engaged. Even during the announcements, people clapped and celebrated over the things that God is doing at Christ Fellowship. Really sweet.

I have had my daughter April, and Son-in-law Joel, here for the weekend and it has been good. I'm so proud of all they're doing as they strive to live for God. I even took Joel on one of my bike rides. Yep. I made him wear the stretchy pants.

My wife made some of the best food ever. Saturday night she capped it off with a soup that was amazing. With left overs. Oh yea. It was really good.

I love my family. They're awesome! Thank you God for blessing me so.

Next weekend begins, Simply Christmas. It's gonna be awesome baby! Invite your friends, take pictures around the Christmas Scenes. We'll be having Child Dedication at all the services, and VIP seating...Yea baby. For the "largest family," in number.
Pick up some Simply Christmas invites and begin handing them out.

Let's pack the place out!
See you soon.

Just in case you had not heard, Christ Fellowship will begin airing in January 2009 on channel 7 at 11:00 AM on Sunday's! That's right. It's gonna be great!

It will be a 30 minute time slot; which means the message is actually shorter than 30 minutes, with an intro, outro, and with a few commercials about our church.
Pray with us that as the service is aired, those 30,000 plus viewers will be encouraged and begin a relationship with Christ.

I will be giving you a CD of the Christmas tunes that we'll be doing. So I look forward to seeing you tonight.

Why Believe in God

Fox News.com: WASHINGTON, D.C. — You better watch out. There is a new combatant in the Christmas wars.

Ads proclaiming, "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake," will appear on Washington, D.C., buses starting next week and running through December. The American Humanist Association unveiled the provocative $40,000 holiday ad campaign Tuesday.

In lifting lyrics from "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," the Washington-based group is wading into what has become a perennial debate over commercialism, religion in the public square and the meaning of Christmas.

"We are trying to reach our audience, and sometimes in order to reach an audience, everybody has to hear you," said Fred Edwords, spokesman for the humanist group. "Our reason for doing it during the holidays is there are an awful lot of agnostics, atheists and other types of non-theists who feel a little alone during the holidays because of its association with traditional religion."

To that end, the ads and posters will include a link to a Web site that will seek to connect and organize like-minded thinkers in the D.C. area, Edwords said.

What would you tell these people if you came in contact with them? Game on!

Simply Christmas, beginning at Christ Fellowship on the weekend of December 6 and 7. Invite your friends, do some Reach Beyond's with you small groups. Let's tell world why we believe in God.

Prayer Booth

I"m not kidding...Check this out...
The Prayer Booth could be just as big as the phone booth was before cell-phones hit the market. Think about it, there’s hardly a time when any Christian doesn’t feel like asking God for a favor, or thanking Him for something, but we can’t just drop to our knees in the middle of the street, put our hands together and start talking to the Man upstairs. The Prayer Booth is the perfect solution to the problem. Put down your bags, enter the booth, follow the clever instructions, and you’re done. Source: odditycentral.com

Wow, let's see what the scripture says: :"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him." Matt.6:5-8

Freedom

You know, I love America. I love the diversity, I love the people, the landscape...I could go on. There are others who love it as well. That's why we have so many people who are willing to risk their lives just to be here. Is it a perfect place? Oh no. This country has its problems, but still there is no place I'd rather be, while we wait in great expectation to be with Christ in heaven. That's gonna be amazing!

I called my dad yesterday who is an Army veteran. He fought in the Korean War and was still active during the Vietnam War. I told him thanks for fighting for our freedom. He said, "Thanks for remembering." Wow, may we never forget the price others have paid so that we can have the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.

Today, two great Christ Fellowship Staff members had family who became American Citizens. It was really special listening to one of them share their experience of watching their mom take the oath to become a citizen. How cool. These folks have waited to become citizens, to gain the full freedom of an American. Incredible!

Check this out: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. II Cor. 3:17

Let's live like we we know that we are free in Christ. Christ died so that we could be free. How could we ever possibly forget that?!!!

See you tonight for rehearsal.

Tuesday Night at the Movies

Linda and I just returned from watching the movie, Fireproof. I loved how they illustrated God's love for us even though we constantly reject Him. Unconditional love, so good. I recommend the movie if you have not seen it. Funny thing was, there were a total of six people in the movie. So we had the pick of the seating, and I also talked during the movie, with my feet on the rail in front of me. Yeah, that's right.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday. The weekends have been great! I can't wait.

There is still time for you to sign up for the Ministry Rally. Go to cffamily.org
It's this Friday evening at 7:00 PM, Palmetto Bay.

Time

This weekend was Daylight Savings Weekend. You know, you "Fall Back." So I got up at 2:00 AM in the morning and set my clock back...no I didn't. I think the extra hour of sleep made our services really energetic. Let's face it, the peeps were rested.

It was a really good weekend. Rick's message was challenging as always; reminding us that every person is precious in God's eyes, and we need to be investing in the lives of people so that they too will have an opportunity to come to Christ.

You know time is limited. We are in a battle for the souls of man. "Let's do this thing!"

There's still time for you to sign up for our next Ministry Rally. Just go to cffamily.org

See you soon
